Another widely-beloved Tom in the entertainment industry would most certainly be Tom Hanks. Like many of his colleagues, the actor started his career in the theater scene. After a couple of works on stage, Hanks got his film debut with a part in 1980’s He Knows You’re Alone. He eventually gained widespread recognition for his work in comedies such as Big, Splash, and A League of Their Own. Since then, he has garnered a skyrocketing degree of praise for his work in various projects, including the Oscar-winning drama film Forrest Gump, the romantic-comedy Sleepless in Seattle, and of course, his voice-acting work as Woody in the Toy Story films.
